Allegro MicroSystems, Inc. has developed a line of fully integrated Hall-effect current sensor ICs and Hall-effect linear ICs that provide highly accurate, low noise output voltage signals that are proportional to an applied AC or DC current. These current sensor ICs are in high volume production in many applications, including automotive HEV inverters and electronic power steering (EPS) systems, and in industrial and consumer inverters.
Allegro current sensor ICs are also used in many power monitoring applications, such as computer blade servers and server power supplies. Allegro's proprietary fully integrated Hall-effect current sensor ICs employ advanced IC and packaging techniques for sensing current from 5 A to 200 A. For sensing beyond 200 A, an Allegro current sensor linear IC can be used.
Allegro current sensor ICs allow design engineers to use Hall-effect-based current sensor ICs in new applications where increased energy efficiency or new operating features are required.

Voltage conversion and regulation plays a key part in electronics design. In the past, the supply of power rails was more of an afterthought. But today¡¯s designs are more focused on highly efficient power conversion and control, combined with optimization of costs, solution size, and robustness.
Multiple output regulators provide two or more outputs from a single input supply. Outputs can be derived from a combination of buck, LDO, boost, or charge pump topologies depending on the application requirements. Automotive and non-automotive devices are available with a variety of package types, most with exposed pad for excellent thermal dissipation.

Angular Position Sensor ICs
Allegro is developing a new family of angle position sensor ICs that is based upon a technology that achieves high resolution and very fast response times. By using a single channel angle sensing signal to measure direction of magnet rotation, in plane with the silicon IC, Allegro¡¯s angle sensor ICs reduce customer trimming and eliminate the need for matching sine/cosine signals, while at the same time reducing air gap dependence.
